A Florida man has been arrested after he threw his five-year-old son into the Atlantic Ocean.
John Bloodsworth was arrested by police after he was observed by a witness throwing his son off of a pier in Daytona Beach and then watching the boy struggle in the deep water. The father then reportedly went into the water, where he then repeatedly threw the child into more waves while yelling at him to swim.
Police were called and the man was arrested. He has been charged with child abuse and intoxication in public. While at Volusia County Beach Safety headquarters, Bloodsworth allegedly said he was “going to jail for being awesome,” and he would be “coming back to the pier to jump off every day.”
