“Multiple” people have died and at least 30 people have reportedly been injured after a fire at an anime studio in Kyoto, Japan, according to NHK Japan.
The fire broke out on Thursday morning at about 10:30 a.m. local time at Kyoto Animation’s studio.
A man has been taken into custody after he “scattered what appeared to be gasoline at the studio.” According to NHK, “the man reportedly admitted as he was being taken to hospital that he spread the liquid around before setting it on fire.”
At least 10 are said to be unconscious following the fire.
