At least 34 cannabis plants have been found growing in flower beds at the Vermont state Capitol.
Police say that they are unsure how the plants got there, but say that they are not pursuing any criminal charges related to the plants. “We also have no thoughts on why someone would plant it,” the department said. “But if anyone wants to claim it and let us know why they planted it, we are happy to listen.”
Vermont was the first state to legalize recreational marijuana through their legislature in 2018. They legalizing medicinal marijuana in 2004.
