Former Florida School Board Member Accused of Shooting at a Vehicle and Police Over a Parking Spot Argument

A former Miami-Dade County school board member has been accused of shooting at Pembroke Pines police and at a vehicle after an argument over a parking spot.

Solomon Stinson, 81, reportedly fired at the officers and vehicle last month during the argument. Upgraded charges were brought against him recently, including three counts of attempted first degree murder, and four charges of shooting into a vehicle.

Stinson reportedly got into an argument with a man over a parking spot at the Pembroke Lakes Mall. He then shot at the victim’s car before driving off. Eventually he was spotted by officer, at which point the man opened fire on them as well. He eventually crashed, but attempted to again run away before being taken into custody.
