Fire crews are on the scene of an explosion at the University of Nevada, Reno campus at the Argenta Hal dormitory. The building has sustained major damage.
No one has been transported to any hospitals. All injuries so far, according to paramedics, have been minor, but crews are still searching for possible victims.
There is no word on the cause of the explosion. UNR is calling it a “utilities accident.” A bomb squad is at the scene as part of the investigation. The incident was reported shortly before 1 p.m. Friday. The public is urged to avoid the area. All surrounding streets are closed.
