A new lawsuit has been filed against Ohio State University, with alumni claiming sexual abuse by a team doctor.
Sixteen more alumni filed suit against the university, claiming that they failed to properly act upon the reports of abuse between 1979 and 1997. The lawsuit is the fifth such filing to accuse the university of inappropriately handling the claims.
An investigation revealed that team doctor Richard Strauss had sexual abused around 177 young men between the previously specified years. The new case also makes a claim of unlawful retaliation, alleging that people employed by or associated with the university have disparaged or tried to stifle men speaking up about Strauss.
