At Least 1,700 Arrests Made in Nationwide Child Sex Trafficking and Pornography Crackdown 

At least 1,700 people have been arrested following a two month crackdown by the Justice Department on child predators.

Investigation “Broken Heart” was conducted by the DOJ in conjunction with other federal agencies, as well as state and local law enforcement. Of the arrests, around 300 of the suspects are accused of producing child pornography or committing sexual abuse involving children.

The operation was conducted in April and May. In total, officials say that they investigated more than 18,500 complaints of crimes against children.
