An off-duty Chicago police officer has been taken into custody after he allegedly crashed into a restaurant while driving drunk, killing a woman.
The police officer was driving with a blood alcohol level of .083 when he
“swerved to avoid another car, jumped a curb and drove through the front of Tony’s Philly Steak restaurant, police said,” according to ABC News.
He hit a 34-year-old woman who was eating inside the restaurant, trapping her under the vehicle. She later died.
The suspect, who has not been named, is 24-years-old has been a police officer in Chicago for three years
