Singer R. Kelly Pleads Not Guilty to Sexual Assault Charges

Singer R. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to the 11 new sexual assault charges brought against him in Chicago.

The new charges against the award-winning singer, 52, stem from the sexual abuse of Jerhonda Pace, then a minor, that allegedly took place in 2010. She discussed her abuse in the documentary series “Surviving R. Kelly.”

Today’s hearing came a week after prosecutors announced the new charges, including four counts of aggravated sexual assault. Each of those charges carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. His next court date has been set for June 26th.
