The FBI has announced that over 200 missing/exploited children have been located and rescued in a massive Georgia operation.
The operation, dubbed “Operation Safe Summer II” was undertaken to help combat all forms of child exploitation and and to try and crack down on child trafficking. 27 law enforcement agencies worked together in the operation from the federal, state, and local level.
It is estimated as of March 2019, there were 419 missing/runaway children on the streets of the five-county Metro Atlanta region. The operation was conducted between May 1st and May 24th.
