The Louisiana House of Representatives has rejects an amendment to a “heartbeat” abortion bill that would have given exceptions to the abortion ban.
The bill, which will be voted on next, bans abortions after a heartbeat is detected. The proposed amendment would have given exceptions to this ban for victims of rape or incest.
The final vote was 35-67.
