Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera has reportedly been arrested for assault following a domestic incident in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Police were called to a hotel and casino late last night after a report of domestic violence. Officers found Herrera’s 20-year-old girlfriend with “visible signs of injury to her arms and neck that was sustained after being assaulted by her boyfriend.”
The woman declined medical treatment, and Herrera was arrested without incident, eventually being released.
Herrera has been placed on administrative leave by Major League Baseball per the league’s domestic violence policy. This can last up to seven days while MLB officials look into the arrest, and it can be extended while the probe continues.
