UPDATE: A tornado warning has been issued for the south side of Chicago. Orland Park, Tinley Park, and Harvey are all reportedly in the tornado’s path, per AccuWeather’s Reed Timmer. A flash flood warning has also been issued for the area.
A tornado watch has been issued for parts of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Michigan.
The area includes the city of Chicago. The National Weather Service says that several tornadoes are likely to form in the area, as well as scattered hail and gusts up to 70 mph.
Over 12 million people are covered by the watch, which will last until 9:00 p.m. CDT.
