BREAKING: Flash Flood Emergency Issued in Wichita, Kansas

A Flash Flood Emergency has been issued by the National Weather Service for many parts of Southeastern Kansas, including downtown Wichita.

A Flash Flood Emergency is declared when there is a short duration of intense flooding in a populated area with a “high peak rate of flow.” The NWS advises all people in the afflicted area depicted in the graphic above to seek higher ground immediately.

Flash Flood Emergencies are extremely dangerous and pose serious threats to life.
