Water along the Arkansas River is reportedly continuing to rise, threatening the town of Webbers Falls, Oklahoma.
The town had evacuation orders issued yesterday, which were carried out. Heavy rainfall from severe storms in the middle of the country have continued to add to the already flooded town, which sits alongside the Arkansas River.
Two barges carrying tons of fertilizer collided with a dam on the Arkansas River earlier today, which led to the sinking of both. The dam was not significantly damaged, but the debris from the barges is preventing the flow of water through three of the dam’s gates.
