A Massachusetts man has been indicted on a federal criminal charge for allegedly sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman sitting next to him and crying on a United flight from Japan to the US.
George Seryogin was accused of groping the woman during the flight from Tokyo to Dulles International Airport in Virginia last summer, NBC Washington reported.
The man allegedly began by touching the woman’s knee, then began groping her and he put a blanket over her leg so that other passengers would not see, the affidavit says.
“The victim was also quietly crying, with tears streaming down her face” as she pushed his hands off her, according to police records.
A grand jury indicted Seryogin on one count of abusive sexual contact aboard an aircraft in flight. “My client firmly denies the allegations against him,” said his attorney, Mary Nerino.
