Lawyers for Aretha Franklin’s estate say that they have found three handwritten wills inside of the late singer’s home.
The latest one is dated March 2014 and appears to give the famous singer’s assets to family members. The wills were not found until now after they appeared to have been hidden, including one that was discovered inside the cushions of a couch.
Some of the writings are difficult to decipher, as there are multiple scratch-outs and had phrases in the margins. No wills had previously been found. A hearing on the validity of the wills will be heard June 12th.
Franklin died last August at the age of 76 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
