One person has been taken into custody following an active shooter situation in Germantown, Wisconsin, Wednesday morning. It happened at a residence near Kennedy Middle School, which became a staging area.
Police were called to a home around 5 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired. Officers witnessed the subject shooting outside his home.
Police set up a perimeter and called the Washington County SWAT team to the scene. After an hour of negotiations, the man was taken into custody. The chief of police calls this situation a mental health issue.
A two-hour delay was initially issued for MacArthur Elementary School and Kennedy Middle School. The delay has now been cancelled.
