Five people aboard an Air Canada Express plane were injured on Friday when the plane was hit by a fuel truck on the tarmac at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Friday. An Air Canada Express flight had departed for Ontario but was forced to return due to “foggy conditions” at the destination. While taxiing towards the gate, a tanker truck hit the aircraft.
Passengers evacuated the aircraft and several people treated by paramedics. The driver of the fuel truck has since been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle.
