Officials have closed a stretch of beach in La Jolla, California, after a large sewage spill.
Over 130 gallons of sewage spilled over the stretch of beach. The spill was reportedly first reported to officials this morning, but it has continued to persist in the area, prompting closures. The sewage also reportedly reached the water, which has been contaminated.
Signs warning beachgoers of sewage-contaminated water were posted and will remain in place until the water is deemed safe.
