A Florida man was arrested and accused of stealing from a Kmart store days after he bought an $8 million private island.
Andrew Lippi, 59, was accused of stealing about $300 worth of household goods from a Kmart in Key West. He would reportedly buy various items, replace them with cheaper versions, and then try to return the items.
Lippi made headlines last week when he purchased Thompson Island, a private estate formerly owned by the philanthropist and developer Edward B. Knight, for $8 million. He has denied the accusations of stealing.
