Expected Acting DHS Secretary Has Not “Ruled Out Family Separations”

Kevin McAleenan, the head of Customs and Border Patrol, and the man who is expected to be the acting head of DHS, has not ruled out family separation at the border as a deterrent, according to NBC News.

Sources tell NBC News that McAleenan is considering “binary choice,” which would give migrant parents “the option between being separated from their children or bringing their children with them into long-term detention.”

McAleenan is expected to take over for Kirstjen Nielson.
