TV actress Allison Mack has pleaded guilty to charges that she manipulated women into becoming sex slaves for the spiritual leader of an upstate New York cult.
Mack, 36, apologized to the women, who prosecutors say were coerced into joining the group and were exploited by Keith Raniere and the purported self-help group called NXIVM. Mack is best known for her role as a young Superman’s close friend on the series “Smallville.”
The plea means that Mack will not go to trial with Raniere and wealthy heiress Clare Bronfman, who have both pleaded not guilty. Opening statements for that trial are scheduled for April 29th.
