Officials Search For Gunman Who Shot And Killed Bald Eagle

Officials are searching for a gunman who shot and killed a bald eagle in Arkansas. According to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the female bald eagle’s body was found near a nest in Drew County on March 28.

Wildlife officials believe the bird was tending to her nest when she was shot. The eagle was taken to the Little Rock Zoo, where veterinary staff determined she died from a gunshot wound. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is joining in the investigation. A reward of up to $6,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible.
