BREAKING: Trump Administration Asks Federal Judge to Dismiss Legal Challenges to Emergency Declaration

The Trump administration has asked the federal judge presiding over their case to dismiss the legal challenges to President Trump’s emergency declaration for the southern border.

Department of Justice lawyers said in one filing that the challenges “raise political questions that courts are not equipped to answer.” The lawyers also said that the arguments of the plaintiffs’ argument that the emergency declaration is unconstitutional due to separation of powers are invalid.

The case in question is the suit brought by Public Citizen. There are also several other challenges to the declaration, including one from attorney generals of 16 states.
