The man suspected of shooting a Texas State Trooper during a traffic stop Friday afternoon and leading an overnight standoff with law enforcement at a Frisco apartment complex is now in custody, police say.
The suspected shooter was taken into custody at about 5 a.m. Saturday. He’s been identified as 42-year-old Bryan M. Cahill, of Frisco. Cahill had fired several shots at officers while they attempted to arrest him. Cahill was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries and is facing charges of aggravated assault on a police officer. The Texas State Trooper who was shot is in stable condition and recovering from surgery, authorities said. Cahill barricaded himself inside an apartment leading to a 15-hour standoff.
