In a series of tweets on Sunday morning, President Trump called for Fox News to continue airing Judge Jeanine Pirro’s program, which did not air on Saturday following comments she made about Rep. Ilhan Omar.
On her “Judge Jeanine” program last weekend, Pirro said about Rep. Ihan Omar’s decision to wear a hijab, “is her adherence to this Islamic doctrine indicative of her adherence to Sharia law, which is antithetical to the U.S. Constitution?”
The comments led some advertisers to put out statements saying they would no longer advertise on her show, and led Fox News to issue the following statement: “We strongly condemn Jeanine Pirro’s comments about Rep. Ilhan Omar. They do not reflect those of the network and we have addressed the matter with her directly.”
Fox News didn’t air her program on Saturday night, but gave no indication when she would return to air.
