Texas Democrat Beto O’Rourke plans to announce that he is running for president in 2020, according to multiple reports.
O’Rourke, who lost a Senate campaign to Ted Cruz in November, told Vanity Fair, “I want to be in it … man, I’m just born to be in it, and want to do everything I humanly can for this country at this moment.”
O’Rourke reportedly texted KTSM-TV in El Paso to say “I’m really proud of what El Paso did and what El Paso represents. It’s a big part of why I’m running. This city is the best example of this country at its best.”
