A youth sports referee in Cherokee County, Georgia, has reportedly committed suicide after being arrested as part of a child sex sting.
Brent Parton, 38, was arrested last Tuesday as part of a four-week sting operation where he had allegedly believed he was talking to a 12-year-old on the internet. He was found dead in his home after being released from jail on $10,500 bond. Parton had been fired immediately from his jobs as a youth baseball umpire and a referee for various other youth sports when the allegation surfaced.
Parton was found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
