An 11-year-old Indiana boy accused of shooting his father, an Indiana State Police trooper, has been charged with attempted murder.
St. Joseph County prosecutors filed a petition alleging delinquency for attempted murder. Police were called to the home on Feb. 22. Trooper Matt Makowski suffered a single gunshot wound to his lower extremities. Makowski was off duty at the time of the shooting and it is not known if the gun used was the officer’s service weapon. Makowski’s condition is “steadily improving.” The 11-year-old is also named in a police report for an alleged battery of an 8-year-old.
