State of Emergency Declared in Georgia

A State of Emergency has been declared in the Georgia counties of Grady, Harris, and Talbot, in the wake of a series of severe storms.

Extensive storm damage was reported in all of the aforementioned counties, prompting the action. The storm is the same one that ripped through Alabama, sending a deadly EF-4 tornado through Lee County, causing the deaths of at least 23 people.

State resources will be deployed to aid in ongoing rescue and recovery efforts in Georgia.
