Six people were shot Sunday morning inside a private club on the South Side of Chicago.
The shooting happened at 3:43 a.m. inside a tavern, according to Chicago police. “It appears that a fight escalated,” Chicago police spokesman Tom Ahern said. A 24-year-old woman told detectives she heard gunfire before feeling a bullet rip through her leg, police said. A 26-year-old man, who was shot in the buttocks and grazed in the chest, was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Later on that morning, four people who were also wounded in the shooting showed up at hospitals, police said. All six people hit by gunfire are expected to survive. No one is in custody.
