Former Baltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins faces narcotics and gun charges after being released on $7,500 bail early Saturday morning.
Collins, 24, was released around 12:30 a.m. Saturday on three charges including, possession of more than 10 grams of marijuana, intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a handgun in a vehicle. The Ravens had released Collins on Friday afternoon, hours after he crashed his black Corvette into a tree. Officers found Collins asleep in the driver’s seat and detected an odor of marijuana. A glass jar containing 5 ounces of marijuana and a handgun were found in the car.
Police said Collins and the passenger gave conflicting stories to whom the marijuana belonged. Collins also indicated there were additional firearms and marijuana in his home.
