A police officer that was fleeing a rabid fox in upstate New York reportedly shot himself in the chest during the chase.
24-year-old Ellenville police officer Harold Nunuvero was responding to reports of the rabid animal when the fox charged him. He turned to run, but got caught on a fence he tried to jump over. He then flipped over, with his gun discharging as he landed, hitting him the chest.
Luckily Nunuvero was wearing his bulletproof vest and was not seriously hurt. Another officer shot and killed the fox while he was on the ground.
