A cargo jetliner that crashed Saturday in Texas with three people aboard. The plane went down into shallow water nose first, Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said.
The sheriff said that he saw the contents of packages and cardboard boxes along with parts of the twin-engine Boeing 767 in the water. The three crew members aboard were all killed. The flight was operated by Atlas Air Inc. The sheriff said that people saw the plane go into the water. Some said it sounded like the engines were “surging.” The plane was branded as an Amazon Prime Air jet, according to FlightRadar24.com. It was traveling from Miami to Houston when it went down about 40 miles southeast of George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The National Transportation Safety Board will lead an investigation, officials said.
