According to CNN, two law enforcement sources have relvealed that Chicago Police believe Jussie Smollett paid two men to “orchestrate his assault.”
The brothers were arrested Wednesday and released without charges after Chicago police referred to “new evidence.” The sources told CNN that the two men are now cooperating fully. Smollett said that he was attacked on January 29 by two men who were “yelling out racial and homophobic slurs” and put a rope around his neck. The sources told CNN that records show the two brothers buying the rope at an Ace Hardware Store in Chicago. Smollett has hired Michael Cohen’s criminal defense lawyer Michael Monico.
