A New Hampshire man accused of sexual assault and threatening to behead the woman says that he didn’t think it was non-consensual because a “safe word” was never used.
Korey Dean, 26, faces six felony charges which include kidnapping, sexual assault and criminal threatening. Prosecutors say that the man woke the victim up and raped her because he believed it to be his God-given right.
However, Dean’s defense has claimed that the two were in a consensual relationship, and the two had a “safe word” that was not used that night.
If convicted, Dean faces 63 years in prison.
