Multiple people were reportedly treated at a hospital in Chicago, Illinois, after attempting a “boiling water challenge.”
The patients reportedly attempted the challenge during the powerful winter storm that swept through the area. The challenge consists of throwing boiling hot water into the air and watching it turn into frozen vapor.
Officials say the patients ranged in age from three to 53 years old. Loyola burn surgeon Dr. Arthur Sanford warns people to not perform the challenge, noting “there is no safe way to do it.”
