New details have been revealed in rapper 21 Savage’s arrest and possible deportation.
Lawyers for the popular music artist say that 21, whose real name is Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, has “never hid his immigration status,” adding that he applied for a U-visa two years ago.U-Visas are granted to victims of certain crimes who have suffered from mental or physical abuse and are willing to help authorities.
Abraham-Joseph was arrested and detained on ICE, who claim that he is from the United Kingdom and in the country illegally. ICE are refusing to let him out on bond.
He was reportedly arrested while in the car with another rapper and two other friends. The four people were detained on other charges after guns and drugs were found inside the vehicle.
