A South Carolina mom faces charges after she was allegedly seen in a video on social media “waterboarding” her sleeping infant, according to officials.
Caitlin Alyse Hardy, 33, was arrested Wednesday following reports that she shared footage on Facebook of child abuse with the caption, “payback for waking me up all kinda times of da night,” the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said. Hardy is seen in the video allegedly pouring water from a bottle on the baby’s face, causing the child to wake up coughing.
Authorities issued a warrant for her arrest Wednesday, accusing the mom of “ill-treatment” that caused “unnecessary pain and suffering” for the baby girl. Charges were filed against Hardy for cruelty to children.
