A Florida man was arrested after he reportedly robbed a Gainesville restaurant using a finger gun.
Steven Michael Berlin, 56, was charged with armed robbery despite not having an actual weapon. He reportedly approached the counter, putting his hand in a position that resembled a gun, which led the employee to believe he had a firearm.
Berlin then took money out of the drawer and took off. He was later found by police with the $577 and promptly arrested.
“He was charged with armed robbery because he implied he had a weapon,” said Chief Inspector Jorge Campos. Berlin was booked into the Alachua County jail with bond set at $25,000.
