The state of Washington has declared a state of emergency as an outbreak of measles continues to spread across the state.

Gov. Jay Inslee made the declaration on Saturday, as the number of confirmed cases hit 32, including 31 cases in Clark County, as well as one in King County, a county that includes Seattle.

In a press release, the governor’s office says a state of emergency will allow so it can manage the public health aspects of the outbreak through investigations and lab testing.”
