At least nine people are confirmed dead and up to 413 are missing Saturday after a dam burst at a Brazilian iron mine. The number of missing more than doubled since authorities’ last report Friday right after the collapse.
The city of Brumadinho is covered in mud. Firefighters have been pulling people from the sludge and airlifting them away. Around 279 people have been rescued, Minas Gerais Civil Defense spokesman Officer Sargent Acquiles reported. The Brazilian mining company that manages the Feijao mine, said at least 413 people are still missing.
