4 Middle School Girls Claim they were Strip Searched at School Because they were “Giddy”

Community members in Binghamton, New York, have expressed outrage after four middle school girls say they were strip searched while at school.

The girls says that they were questioned and “strip-searched” by the school nurse and assistant principal at Binghamton’s East Middle School on Jan. 15 because they seemed “hyper and giddy” and were suspected of possessing drugs. The leaders added that three of the girls complied to the search, but the fourth was suspended for refusing.

The school district has denied the claims, but suggested that the school district can request the removal of clothing for “medical evaluations” They have not given any further details on the incident.
