An avalanche at the Taos Ski Valley ski resort in New Mexico has reportedly buried multiple people.
The avalanche reportedly occurred around noon local time near Kachina Peak. Rescue crews say they still do not know how many people were buried by the snow, but confirmed that three people have been rescued. CPR was required for at least one of the located victims. It is unclear what caused the avalanche.
A search is being led by the Taos Valley Ski Patrol in conjunction with local law enforcement and firefighters for any others buried by the avalanche.
Up to 16″ of snow has fallen in the Taos Ski Valley in the last week alone.
