Police say that three children have died after they were found trapped in a chest freezer in Live Oak, Florida.
Family members reportedly discovered the children locked inside late Sunday night. They pulled out the one, four, and six-year-olds and attempted CPR, but were unable to resuscitate them. They were rushed to the hospital, but were pronounced dead.
Authorities say that after speaking to the family, the children were playing outside and somehow climbed into the freezer, which was unplugged. The lid closed on the children, and an after-market hasp installed on it prevented them from being able to escape. They were discovered after a woman at the home returned outside after using the bathroom.
Foul play is not suspected.
