Authorities say that at least one person is dead and 14 others were rushed to the hospital after a mass drug overdose in Chico, California.
Emergency crews responded to a home in North Chico Saturday after reports of a “mass casualty incident.” Upon arrival, they found the group all suffering from apparent overdoses. At one point in the incident, 6 people were undergoing CPR at the same time.
Chico Fire Department Division Chief Jesse Alexander described it as the largest mass casualty incident he had seen in years. All of the overdose victims are believed to be between 20 and 30 years old.
