J.D. Gibbs, the co-founder and co-chairman of Joe Gibbs Racing, has died at 49 due to complications from a degenerative neurological disorder, according to the team.
J.D. Gibbs, who was the son of owner Joe Gibbs, had to step back over from day-to-day operations of the team over the past years due to health issues related to the disorder, which doctors had trouble pinpointing.
