A 5.3-magnitude earthquake has hit 45 km northwest of Kashi, China, according to EMSC.

The earthquake struck the area at about 11:32 p.m. ET, which is Saturday afternoon in the affected region.

The earthquake reportedly had a depth of about 33 km, according to the USGS.
