At least 21 bodies have been found in Tamaulipas, Mexico, along the Texas border, in an act believed to be related to the Mexican drug cartels.

Authorities say they found the bodies, some burned, in what appears to have been a gang-related clash. Many of the details revolving around the incident still remain unclear, as the investigation is still ongoing.

Tamaulipas has been a major scene for drug shipments and has also seen some of the worst massacres and fiercest fighting in Mexico’s drug war.
